LOTT STEPS DOWN After saying repeatedly that he would NOT step down as majority leader... but perhaps finally spurred by the latest developments (a real challenge to his leadership by Bill Frist of TN)... Trent Lott will, in fact, resign his leadership post in the Senate.
I'm only sorry he's not resigning his Senate seat entirely.
