I'm so addicted to the Game Show Network! I am in love with "Match Game" right now but it's on at wierd times, so I find myself going home to watch it over lunch, getting to work late and staying up late at night. Not good. :-) I got into work at 9:30 this morning cause I was watching an episode with Betty White, Richard Dawson and Brett Summers (sp) as guests. The whole show is almost all ad-libbed and the celebrities are really funny. They don't make game shows like that anymore! If you can get over the outfits (since it was taped in the early 70's) it's worth watching!

So I finally got to see "All Over The Guy" last night at Fall Creek Cinema. Very cute! It's playing into next week as well. If you don't know, it's about a straight guy and girl who fix up their gay best friends. Of course the straight guy and girl wanna get together too. ;-) Joanna Kerns (Mom from "Growing Pains") plays a surprising role, as well as the mother from "Everybody Loves Raymond." Would be a great date movie. :-) Next I wanna see "Hedwig and the Angry Inch." Any takers? *big cute grin*

Great news! The first thing I did this morning was read the paper for the primary results, and my friend Kathy Herrera won the Democratic Primary in her district for the Tompkins County Board of Reps. Since she won the primary, she has no competition for the seat. Neither the Republican nor the Green Party put up a candidate. She is going to make a fantastic representative for the city of Ithaca! Go Kathy!

So it only took me a year to get this pic up... and hopefully there are more to come. Check out the pic of my nephew that I scanned tonight. Isn't he adorable!?

I just wrapped up one of the best weekends I've had in a long time! Decided to take a break from Ithaca and go to Rochester to see my Mom and nephew/godson. Saw a drag show @ Muther's. Hung out with friends the rest of the weekend... Saturday I took a bike ride along the river and canal and then went out and saw "Rat Race" later in the evening. Today I spent most of the day with my mom and my nephew. We took him with us to brunch this morning and all the waitresses commented on how sweet he is. I got some new pics of him, I have to scan them in and post them up. His one-year birthday party is coming up Oct. 12th, so I gotta go back to Rochester for that. Yahoo! I'll have to go shopping for gifts soon and spoil him rotten. :-)

How many ways are there to say "busy?" I'm so fortunate to have a lot going on in my life right now. Friends, the new apartment, but The highlight of my weekend was checking out my friend Linn's art opening at the Everson in Syracuse Friday night. She does some phenomenal stuff! I would encourage anyone into photography to check out the exhibit. I think it's running until November 18. It's titled "The Cosmic Dominatrix." Her photography is visually stunning, and makes a social statement by challenging gender stereotypes. You won't be disappointed. :-) It seems there are a lot of other great exhibits at the Everson, including some new paintings. Hopefully I can convince some folks to make a saturday visit with me. *yawn* It's gettin' late, I'll have more to write soon...

Hey all! Another jam-packed busy few days for me. Last night was BookTalk, the queer reading group I belong to. I haven't been going regularly because I have been so busy, but went last night and realized how much I miss it and all the people there. One of our discussions was "How are we going to get more people to come?" We've got a lot of ideas in the works (dessert parties, socials, movie nights, etc.) but I thought I'd post it and if anyone is interested in joining us they can drop me a line. Our next meeting is on October 8th @ 7:00 pm. The location hasn't been decided yet. But I'll make sure to keep interested parties posted. We're reading Dorothy Allison's "Bastard Out of Carolina." No excuses, you've got plenty of time to get it and read it. :-)

Hey! I'm Shane... a proud gay progressive Democrat who has recently relocated to New York City from Ithaca, NY. As I am no longer in Ithaca, I haven't quite decided the fate of this blog.

Drop me a line!
